Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of outer (“outer”, “we”, “us”) — a hosted memory layer for humans and agents. By creating an account or connecting an agent, you agree to them.
1. The service
Outer stores threads, notes, evidence, and a machine-readable content twin so that you and the agents you authorize can read and write from the same durable context. We may change, add, or remove features as the product develops.
2. Accounts and keys
You sign in with a verified email. You are responsible for activity under your account and for any agent keys you issue. Keys are scoped credentials — treat them like passwords, store them securely, and revoke any key you believe is exposed. We are not liable for loss caused by a key you failed to protect.
3. Your content
You own the memory you create in outer. You grant us only the rights needed to operate the service — to store, process, transmit, back up, and display your content to you and the principals you authorize. We do not sell your content, and we do not use it to train models.
4. Agent access
When you connect an agent with a key, that agent can read and write memory within the scope you grant. You are responsible for the agents you authorize and for the content they record. Outer is a tool for memory, not a judge of its accuracy — verify what matters before relying on it.
5. Acceptable use
Do not use outer to break the law, infringe others’ rights, store malware, attempt to access other tenants’ data, or overload the service. We may apply rate limits and quotas, and may suspend access that threatens the integrity, security, or availability of the service.
6. Availability and changes
We work to keep outer available and durable, but the service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service, and will give reasonable notice of material changes where we can.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, outer is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost data, profits, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amounts you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim.
8. Termination
You may stop using outer and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms. On termination, your right to use the service ends; we will make reasonable efforts to let you export your content before deletion.
